Termageddon: Website Policies That Update Themselves

Every website that collects a name, an email address, an order or a cookie is subject to privacy law somewhere. Most small business sites handle this with a policy page written once in 2019 and never looked at again — which is roughly the same as not having one.

Termageddon is the tool we use to fix that, and it is one of the few pieces of software we recommend to almost every client.

What Termageddon does

Termageddon generates the legal pages a modern website needs, then keeps them current. Instead of a lawyer drafting a static document, you answer a short questionnaire about your business — where you operate, what data you collect, whether you have an online store, which third-party tools are embedded on your site — and Termageddon builds policies around those answers.

The important part is what happens next: when privacy laws change or new ones take effect, the policies update automatically on your live site. No annual review, no email from a lawyer you forget to action, no stale page quietly leaving you exposed.

The pages it covers

  • Privacy Policy — what you collect, why, how long you keep it and who you share it with.
  • Terms of Service — the rules for using your site and buying from you.
  • Cookie Policy — the cookies your site and its third-party tools set, and why.
  • Disclaimer — for professional advice, affiliate links or testimonials.
  • EULA — if you sell software or digital products.
  • Cookie consent banner — a proper consent prompt, not a notification bar that tells people cookies exist and offers no choice.

Why this matters more than it used to

Three things changed. Privacy laws multiplied — GDPR, CCPA and a growing list of state-level laws all have real requirements and real enforcement. Websites got more complicated, so a single site now loads analytics, fonts, chat widgets, payment processors and booking tools, each collecting something. And the tools that link your site to those services change frequently, which is exactly what a static policy page cannot track.

A policy written by hand is accurate on the day it is written. A policy service keeps it accurate.

How it works with your website

Termageddon gives you an embed snippet. We place it where the policy pages live, and from then on the content updates from Termageddon's side without anyone touching the site. That means no developer time, no re-publishing, no version control problem when a law changes.

We set this up as standard on new builds, and we can retrofit it onto an existing site in about an hour.
