About this project
Animal Rescue of New England is a Rhode Island-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that rescues dogs and cats and connects them with loving homes across New England. The goal was a modern, welcoming, easy-to-navigate website that supports the mission while simplifying adoption, encouraging donations and putting available animals in front of the right people.
The site was built on WordPress with custom Petfinder integration. Visitors can browse available dogs and cats, open individual pet profiles and reach adoption applications directly, so the rescue no longer has to send people to a separate platform to see its adoptable animals.
A major focus was making the site both an information resource and a working adoption platform. Rather than maintaining disconnected adoption pages, the website pulls from the rescue's Petfinder listings, which reduces steps for prospective adopters and simplifies how the organisation presents its animals online.
The site also encourages community involvement with donation options placed throughout, foster and volunteer pathways, and adoption guides and FAQs. The finished website gives Animal Rescue of New England a professional digital presence that supports its mission, improves local search visibility and helps rescued animals find permanent homes.
